Hyundai Just showcased their upcoming Electric SUV ‘IONIQ 5’ in India, Which is going to be launched in January 2023. You can book the SUV for a token amount of 1 Lakh. Total of 5 SUV’s showcased in different colors near Taj hotel, Mumbai.
Expected Price
Hyundai IONIQ 5 will be assembled in India. Which helps Hyundai to make this electric SUV slightly more affordable Than Kia EV6, which costs around 59.96 Lakh (Ex-Showroom). The Starting price will be around 50 Lakhs. This 10 Lakh difference of price will definitely give the Edge to Hyundai ever Kia.
Exterior Design
First Hyundai IONIQ 5 was revealed as a concept at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor show. Surprisingly, unlike the most of other cars whose production version is completely different from concept, the production version of IONIQ 5 is very much like the concept and stuck to it’s Retro-Modern design language.
The front and rear lights get a kind of square pixelated look, The modern look is given by those sharp lines and plain flat surface, with 20-inch turbine design like alloy wheels is on another level. Company offers a total of three colors Optic white, Midnight Black pearl, Gravity gold matte.
Interior
The Interior of Hyundai IONIQ 5 is quite clean and follows a minimal design approach rather than just putting screens everywhere, it gets Dual screen set-up used as a Drivers display and infotainment system cowl by Unconventional white bezels. The floor is completely flat and there isn’t any center console so no button or dial. but has a movable armrest that can slide all the way to the back.
Hyundai has used lots of eco-friendly and recyclable material such as fabric made from recycled phatic and leather upholstery made out of eco-friendly leather. Despite being made out of eco-friendly and recyclable material it doesn’t feel cheap or low quality, everything seems very good quality.
Powertrain And Battery Pack
Hyundai hasn’t revealed any powertrain details. it’s expected to get a 72.6kWh battery pack. Which gives the SUV ARAI claimed range of 631 km in single charge. IONIQ 5 will be available in both All wheel drive (AWD) and Rear wheel drive (RWD) Configurations in India. and can produce 217 hp and 350NM of Max Torque. The SUV also supports Fast charging of 800V, which can charge the vehicle from 10 to 80% in just 18 minutes.
