On 9 January, Tata Motors Released a video on twitter, in which they teased their upcoming Electric vehicles. A total of 3 cars have been teased including Tata Altroz EV, Harrier EV and Safari EV. The both Harrier EV and Safari EV could be based on ‘Born Electric’ platform that support multiple body types with two-three row seating configurations.
The Upcoming Harrier EV and Safari EV will enable Tata Motor’s to enter in the Flagship EV Market. It’s also expected that Tata will Showcase EV version of its micro SUV Punch. The New Harrier EV and Safari EV could get an illuminated wide T Emblem at front, just like the Avinya concept. It’s also gonna get a new Signature element for upcoming Tata Electric cars.
Altroz EV
Tata Motors showcased Altroz Electric three year ago at Geneva motor show, Altroz EV likely to have a 30.2 kWh battery pack from Nexon EV, which will give the Expected range of 350 km in single charge. The battery pack will be mated with Tata’s PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) Electric Motor that helps EV to Produce 129 PS of power and 245 NM of Max Torque. with a Dc fast charging it will take around an Hour to charge from 10-80%, Although, with AC Charger through regular 15A socket it will take around 9 hours
Harrier EV & Safari EV
Definitely, both SUV will be flagship EV products of Tata Motors with more powerful motor and higher capacity battery pack compared to on going EVs. There are some minor chances that we can even see a 4×4 option on higher variants. Because there are only slight changes in Safari over Harrier like the One extra row, That’s why we may not get to see much changes on both EVs.
A minimum certified range of 400-450 would be required for these SUVs and that required a battery pack of at least 60 kWh, to reduce range anxiety. but with these big sizes it’s better to have more power, we expect to see 200 PS of power and 400 Nm of Max Torque.
