Skoda has been very active in the Indian market for the past few years, but they have only launched the ICE car, but with the growing demand and maturing market, they will soon be launching their first electric vehicle in India. and now it’s all set to launch Enyaq iV Electric Crossover, which already huge success in European countries.
The EV has recently been spied testing in India several times and Skoda has also confirmed the arrival of the electric Crossover.
exterior design
The Exterior design is typical Skoda design which we see in almost every Skoda cars, With tiger nose grill and sharp headlights the front looks quite sporty and sharp, in addition, the grill also has illumination in it, which Will give a unique look to the EV on the road. As seen in a picture it’s gonna get 19-inch alloy wheels. The Enyaq is based on Volkswagen MEB platform, on which the Volkswagen ID4 and Audi Q4 e-tron crossover is also based. With 4,648 mm length and 1,877 Hight, The Enyaq is slightly smaller than Kodiaq (for reference).
battery pack and powertrain
The Skoda imported some models, and the one which spied testing is seems, Enyaq iV 80x, which is top of the line variant. The Enyaq iV 80x gets a 77 kWh battery pack that supports up to 120W DC fast charging, and dual-motor provide each motor for excel, enable AWD drivetrain. and has a WLTP claimed range of up to 513 km in single charge. with 265 hp of power the Skoda Enyaq iV can sprint 0-100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds. The 7.4 kW home charger can charge the car from 0-100 % in 12 hours and 44 minutes.
expected launch date and price
Skoda is likely to reveal the Enyaq iV at the upcoming Auto Expo in February 2023. Perhaps the price will also be revealed at the Auto Expo itself. but the expected starting price could be around ₹60 Lakh.
rivals
The Enyaq iV will directly compete with cars like Volvo XC40 Recharge, Mini Cooper SE, Kia EV6, BMW i4, there are the car which have the same price as Enyaq iV but there’s lot of indirect competition too, with Mid budget EV cars like MG ZS EV, Hyundai Kona Electric, and BYD atto 3.
